AI Risk Assessments

AI Risk Assessments analyse beneficiary data to automatically identify individuals who may be at elevated risk across multiple vulnerability dimensions. This helps programme managers prioritise caseworker attention and target additional support before situations escalate.

Each risk assessment scores a beneficiary across up to five dimensions:

Dimension What it evaluates
General vulnerability Overall risk level based on household and case data
Food security Risk of food insecurity based on household composition, income, and case history
Health Health-related risk factors including medical notes, visit history, and programme data
Protection Risks related to safety, domestic situations, or safeguarding concerns
Vulnerability Combined socioeconomic vulnerability score
  1. Click AIRisk Assessments in the sidebar.
  2. Click New assessment.
  3. Select the beneficiary to assess.
  4. Select which risk dimensions to include (or run all).
  5. Click Run assessment.

The assessment runs in seconds. Compass analyses the beneficiary’s profile, case history, visits, household data, and any linked programme information to generate the scores.

The result screen shows:

  • Risk level per dimension — Low, Medium, High, or Critical
  • Risk factors — specific data points that contributed to the score (e.g. “No visits in 45 days”, “Household size above threshold”, “Open case flagged for review”)
  • Recommendations — suggested actions for each elevated risk area

After reviewing an assessment:

  1. Click Mark as reviewed to acknowledge it has been read.
  2. If action is needed, add a note describing what steps are being taken.
  3. Click Save.

Reviewed assessments are logged with a timestamp and your name.

All assessments for a beneficiary are stored and accessible from the Risk Assessments list. You can compare scores over time to see whether risk levels are improving or worsening.
