Stock Counts

A stock count compares what is physically there with what Resources expects. Nothing changes until a stock manager approves it.

A storekeeper at the location, a stock manager or an admin can start a count.

  1. Go to Stock → Counts and click + New count.
  2. Choose the location, and Every item at this location or just some items. Click Start count.
  3. Resources creates a line for each item and lot on hand. Enter what you Counted on each line. + Add found stock records stock that isn’t on the list.
  4. Save as you go, then Submit count once every line has a counted quantity.

Its approvers get an alert; by default that’s the stock managers, and Approval config can ask for more, by the value of the differences. An approver (not the person who counted) opens it from Approvals or the count itself:

  • Approve: the last approval posts each difference between counted and on-hand stock as a count variance.
  • Send back returns it to the counter as a draft, with a reason.
